Paintings
My paintings are visual energy, crystallized in paint, a moment frozen in time. I reference geological and biological influences.
My process mimics the forces which earth has experienced through the eons: the stabilization/destabilization of fluids and matter. And just as in nature, the result manifests as striations, craters, layers, boundaries, and implosion/explosions. A painting may appear to be the interior of a geological formation, a land or sea mass viewed from afar, or perhaps an unleashed biological creation. As I purposefully avoid man made tools, the process is metaphorically and literally, a man (me) trying to control nature.
